Tips to help Improve your Credit Score
- Keep your credit card balances under 10% of your total credit limit
- Close unneeded accounts over several months instead of all at once.
- Close your newest accounts so it does not affect your long term credit score.
- Get a secured credit card if you have bad credit and cannot obtain credit somewhere else.
- Review your credit report carefully and document anything you do not see as right. If you see an error make sure to report the error either through a letter to your credit agency with the error noted or through a form on their website.
- Open up a savings account because it will show creditors that you are willing and interested in saving money.
- Get your credit report from all three bureaus, because they all may have slightly different information on you. This way you can get a complete profile of your credit history and score.
